NDC 341 Zoom Portal FAQ's / Tips & Tricks

1. How do you notify debtors and debtor attorneys about the new NDC 341 Zoom Portal?

Answer:
During the original Beta Testing phase, the three participating Trustee offices used a couple of different approaches.

Option One:
On the Monday of each scheduled week of 341 meetings, an email was sent to debtor attorneys asking them to share the information with their clients. The email included:

  • The NDC 341 Zoom Portal URL
  • A step-by-step handout explaining what debtors should expect during the process before joining your UST Zoom link (See Attachment)

This step-by-step handout can also be:

  • Sent directly to the debtor, and/or
  • Posted on the Trustee’s website for easy access

Option Two:
Another Trustee office chose to send invitations directly to the debtors. The email or letter included the step-by-step handout along with listing all required information (including any documents or identification the debtor needed to provide or bring to the meeting).

2. What happens when a debtor attorney has several clients attending 341 meetings from the attorney’s office?

Answer:
In this situation, the debtor will not select their own name from the drop-down list.

Instead, the attorney should:

  1. Sign in using the Debtor Attorney option
  1. The Trustee 341 Hearing officer can then right click and manually enter the name(s) of the client/debtor should they choose to do so

3. What if there are two debtors attending the same 341 meeting on one call?

Answer:
If both debtors are appearing together on the same device, the drop-down menu will only allow one debtor name to be selected.

The Trustee 341 Hearing officer can then right click and manually enter the name of the joint client/debtor

4. What happens if a debtor does not allow access to their microphone or camera when entering the NDC Zoom Portal?

Answer:
If the debtor does not click “Accept” to allow the NDC Zoom Portal access to their microphone and/or camera, they will not be able to continue through the portal process.

Unfortunately, they will not be able to proceed in the NDC 341 Zoom Portal.  The debtor will need to use the court-issued Zoom link to attend their 341 meeting.
